Notes:
*Attendance is Mandatory at all of your sessions. Failure to make a session will result in minimum scores (not zeros) for the event. If you have a valid conflict (other sport practices/games are not accepted) notify me so I can move you to another group for that one event (skill, skill/pucks, scrimmage).

*Goalies must show up at all scrimmage sessions for your level, as well as your Goalies Skills session.

*Goalies, if you have not already done so, please notify Chuck Bailey that you will trying out as a goalie.

*Arrive at the rink at least 45 minutes and be ready for a pinnie 30 minutes prior to your session. Players must be fully dressed in order to get a pinnie.

*No on-site registrations will be accepted.

*For scrimmages, a player will be asked to indicate what position they want to be evaluated at (ex-Mites). This does not guarantee that a player will play that position for their team next year. Player position assignments are the decision of next season’s team Head Coach.

*All players must wear neck guards for all sessions. Pee Wee/Bantams must wear mouthguards. You will be told to get off the ice and get one.

*Pee Wee and Bantam players, you will be advised that scrimmages are “play the body” format. All scrimmages evaluate a player based on aggressiveness, not their ability to check.

*Placement on a team for next year at or above a player’s current team is not guaranteed.

*The objective of FYHA tryouts is not to exclude players from making a team as is done in other leagues but to place all players based on a fair evaluation process using a numerical rating system ( no coach input for a player is used).

*Be aware of FYHA Bylaws regarding a Coach’s Pick. If you have a serious reason for not being able to make all or part of the tryouts, you must make me aware of this as soon as you know so a Coach Pick can be presented to the FYHA Tryout Committee for consideration.

*Lastly for ALL PARENTS: Your child will be participating in a town youth hockey program not a AA/AAA league. One of the key objectives of the program is to ensure that the kids have fun playing the game of hockey. Added parental-coach pressure on the way to the rink to skate harder, don’t pass the puck, make sure you don’t fall, etc. is apt to work against a player. From parents scolding players in the parking lot to parents yelling from the stands or pounding on the glass, don’t be one of them that makes for a bad tryout experience for your child and other’s around you. You may be asked to leave.

Any questions, concerns or otherwise at anytime, contact me at the below.

See you at the rink.

Chuck Bailey, Vice President.
